CleanLAwithME Plans Halloween-Minga Cleanup with Costume Contest in Los Angeles

Event takes place Saturday, Oct. 25, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at 225 N. Myers St. in Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES, Calif., Oct. 25, 2025 – CleanLAwithME, a nonprofit dedicated to clearing waste and restoring public spaces across Los Angeles, will host a “Halloween-MINGA” community cleanup on Saturday, Oct. 25, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at 225 N. Myers St. in Los Angeles. The event combines environmental action with holiday fun, encouraging volunteers to wear Halloween costumes for a chance to win prizes.

The Halloween-MINGA cleanup invites community members to do good while having fun, with prizes totaling up to $200 awarded to the top three costumes. More than 15 volunteers are expected to participate, all working together to remove trash and improve the surrounding neighborhood.

The event is organized by Juan Naula, founder of CleanLAwithME, who created the nonprofit to inspire hands-on environmental action through community involvement.

“Our goal is to make cleanups feel welcoming, fun and meaningful,” Naula said. “By adding a Halloween theme, we hope to bring more people together, build community pride and show that caring for our neighborhoods can also be enjoyable.”

Volunteers of all backgrounds are welcome to attend and are encouraged to arrive in costume. Cleanup supplies will be provided on site.

Community members are invited to share photos and experiences from the event on social media to help spread awareness about local environmental efforts.

About CleanLAwithME:

CleanLAwithMe is a dedicated nonprofit organization founded by Juan Naula, an immigrant from Ecuador who has turned his personal journey into a mission for environmental change and community empowerment. Established on May 21, CleanLAwithMe addresses the pressing issue of waste in Los Angeles, particularly the impact of illegal dumping and trash accumulation on under-resourced neighborhoods. Through organized cleanups, community engagement, and innovative solutions, the organization has successfully removed over 2,500 bags of trash and mobilized more than 250 volunteers. With ambitious goals to establish over 100 cleanup hubs and implement smart waste infrastructure throughout the city, CleanLAwithMe is committed to fostering cleaner, healthier streets while promoting sustainable practices for a brighter future. By tackling both environmental and social inequalities, CleanLAwithMe aims to instill a sense of dignity and pride within the communities it serves.
